Even though most of her work is behind the scenes, Lisa is essential to our team. Her positive attitude and willingness to help others are two of the many reasons why we love her so much!
Tammie Stroud grew up in Atlantic Beach and Morehead City. She attended North Carolina State University where she received a Bachelors of Arts in history. After graduation, Tammie worked in Raleigh for a year and then decided to move back home to be closer to the ocean. Tammie and her fiancé, Kevin, are expecting their first child in late August. She has three pets who take up a lot of her time, a lazy cocker spaniel named Lucy, a high-strung lab named Buddy, and a lunatic cat named King Louis XVI. Tammie enjoys reading history books in her free time and trying to entertain Louis.
Always quick with a smile and a joke, Tammie is constant comic relief for us at Lucas Research! But even more than that, she is an amazing Team Leader who steps up whenever needed and is so efficient that she’s never even heard of a learning curve!
Savannah was born in Brandon, Vermont, but her family traded snow for sand and moved to Newport, NC when she turned 11. She graduated from East Carolina University in 2016 with a degree in Public Relations. Family is Savannah’s driving force. She is the oldest of four children as she has two brothers and one sister — with a 17-year age gap between her and her youngest brother. Her partner, Chris, has three children, and on weekends her families get together to hang out as one big family! Savannah is expecting her first child in the Fall, a baby boy! She also has one very excitable pound puppy named Luda, whom her parents lovingly refer to as their “gran-dogger.” In her free time, Savannah enjoys playing Scrabble and cards, reading to her kids, and going to the beach.
Savannah has hit the ground running in her role on the Administrative Team and we are happy to have her on-board!

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Policy from Hawaii Pacific University in 2017, and then promptly decided that the Crystal Coast is a different and more special type of paradise. After four exciting years in Honolulu, including many international excursions with her long-time boyfriend Luke, Julia joined Lucas Research in May 2017. Her weekends are spent with her family and their two gargantuan Labradors either at the beach or on Luke’s boat!
Julia’s sweet, fun spirit has made her a quick hit with her teammates! We are very happy she missed her hometown while she was away in paradise; Lucas Research is lucky to have her!

The two traveled extensively throughout Europe and still try to travel as much as they possibly can. After receiving her Master’s degree in Energy and Resources, it was Kady’s turn to move to the US. In her free time Kady enjoys reading, painting, and hiking. Kady and Nick also just had a beautiful baby boy named Sam and are beyond excited!
Kady started at Lucas Research just two weeks before her due date! Talk about drive! If that’s not impressive, Kady’s intelligence and eagerness to learn are tremendous.

You will not find a more dedicated or harder worker than Brooke. With everything she has going on between work and school, she never seems to drop the ball. We are starting to think she has magical powers!!
Jessica is native to Carteret County and joined Lucas Research in 2012. She attended Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina where she graduated in 2005, earning BA degrees in Political Science and History. While in college, Jessica played soccer for Meredith. Upon moving home, Jessica married her childhood friend Donny Jones of Morehead City, NC and they now have a baby daughter Bella. Their family revels in the marvels Carteret County has to offer, spending most of their time on the water with friends and family. When Jessica is not working, she spends time with her family, friends, and her two manly Chihuahuas named Jackson and Rocky. She loves her DEC team members like they are family. Jessica believes her life journey led her to Lucas Research, encompassing her need to serve others, quest for knowledge, and pursuit to make a difference in peoples’ lives.

Ellie is a lifelong soccer fan and follows Chelsea FC in the British Premier League. She loves to cook, read, and spend time with her family.
Ellie’s British accent alone makes her awesome! Actually, her steady, calm demeanor and thoughtful approach is what makes her awesome…but we still love the accent, too!

Jule began as the Financial Controller at Lucas Research in late 2016 and loves the enthusiasm of her team members. She enjoys travelling the world with her fiancé, James, and boating with her yellow lab, Pearl.
Jule has been a rock star on our team since Day 1! She never backs down from a challenge and has brought immense value to the practice; some days we don’t know how we ever made it without her! Along with her intelligence, Jule’s friendly spirit and down-to-earth nature make her a joy to work with (despite the fact that she is a Tar Heel). We are extremely lucky to have her!

Carley is a real go-getter and has been a great addition to the LR team! Her background in clinical research has helped her hit the ground running, and we love how fearlessly she tackles every task she’s given! Carley has already made a huge impact in the short time she’s been with us; we’re so thankful to have her on-board!
Andrea was born and raised in Mechanicsville, Virginia with her 3 brothers and 2 sisters, and is one of a set of quadruplets. She graduated from NC State in 2013 with a Bachelor’s Degree in English (Go ‘Pack!). After graduating, Andrea lived and worked in Raleigh, but moved to New Bern in 2015 after marrying her husband, Rob. Andrea loves sports, especially football, and is a huge fan of the Carolina Panthers! In fact, Rob and Andrea’s first date was to a Panthers game, and they still try to get back to Charlotte at least once every season. In her free time, Andrea enjoys playing with her pup (Olsen), running, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.
Since Andrea came from a big family, we knew she could handle our big family! With her intelligent, inquisitive nature she’ll always be one step ahead and that’s perfect for Lucas Research!
Seth Medlin grew up in a small town just outside Charlotte. The family owned and operated several businesses so it was inevitable he would become an entrepreneur. Seth obtained his bachelor’s degree in accounting from ECU, and then studied computer science at UNC-Greensboro. Seth worked as a computer software engineer in Little Rock, Arkansas and Atlanta, Georgia before moving to Carteret County in 2000. Atlanta was a sea of cars and Seth’s family longed for a real ocean.
Seth & Jeannie founded Diabetes & Endocrinology Consultants, now Lucas Research in 2004. If Seth is in town, you will most likely find him at the office. Lucas Research has allowed his family to be a positive force to more lives than they could have ever imagined. They do travel 5 or 6 weeks a year and have lost count of visits to Hawai’i. Morehead City is home now; home is where the o’hana is. If dreams come true there will be a second home on the west side of Kohala Mountain on the island of Hawai’i one day. Everyone needs a dream.
We would not be where we are today without all the hard work, dedication, and creativity of Seth. Lucas Research is the success it is because he was not afraid to think outside the box and create a medical practice that does things a little differently. If you ever wonder what makes Lucas Research so special, it is the culture and vision that Seth worked on creating from day one.
